Casiana Muñoz-Tuñón, new deputy director of the Institute of Astrophysics of the Canary Islands

Casiana Muñoz-Tuñón will be the new deputy director of the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC) in substitution of Carlos Martínez Roger and assumes the functions of support to the Management, advice on structural policies and coordination and promotion of IAC activities.

Casiana is an astrophysicist, expert in galaxies, main researcher of the international collaboration ESTALLIDOS and leads the Sky Quality Group of the Observatories of the Canary Islands.

The future Center for Astrophysics and Technology of La Palma (Catelp) advances



The Breña Baja Scientific and Technological Park that will house the complex has approved the urbanization project.

Canarias increases its R & D allocation

The Ministry of Economy, Industry, Trade and Knowledge of the Government of the Canary Islands increases its R & D allocation to more than 60 million euros for research, innovation, development and applied and basic research.

Call for the "Cervera" Program

During the first quarter of 2019, the "Cervera" Program will be published with 20 million euros to boost certain technologies in technological centers: Advanced materials, eco-innovation, energy transition, intelligent manufacturing, health technologies, safe and healthy food chain, deep learning, artificial intelligence, advanced mobile networks, intelligent transport and information protection. The program also includes 500 million euros in credits for R&D projects of SMEs and midcaps in collaboration with technology centers.

Logo Transfiere 2019During 13th and 14th February 2019, Málaga will host the 8th European Forum for Science, Technology and Innovation, a great professional and multisector forum for technology and knowledge transfer, that is open to the participation of the national and international R+D+i ecosystems. In this Forum, the participants can establish B2B contacts, transfer scientific knowledge and technology research lines, find possible partners for initiatives or projects, show their products and innovative services, know the technology needs of the Public Administration, and get financed for innovative projects as well.

As in the past years, the Spanish Science Industry actively participates in this event through INEUSTAR and INDUCIENCIA, being both organizations member of Transfiere Organizing Committee.
